Ikoku Meiro no Croisée is based on 19th Century Paris. A Japanese girl named Yune is taken to Paris to work as a poster girl to advertise the store; Roy’s Signboard Shop which has been past down through three generations of the family.
As things were going well, Yune notices a boy staring at the show-window and runs after him. Unfortunately her sleeves get caught on the signboard and it breaks.
Yune decides to give Claude a kimono to sell as an apology.
But Oscar (his grandfather) tells him that the kimono was a keepsake from Yune’s mother.
And it turns out that Yune understands French even though she hasn’t expressed her thoughts and feelings before. Claude promises to get back the kimono and Yune promises to never let go of anything dear again.
